Mid Year Wrap Up

I cannot believe how quickly this year is going by! It seems like it was last week when I was prepping my reading journal ready for a new year full of books and now we’re halfway through!

I took a different approach to recording my books this year – I’m still using The StoryGraph on my phone as a way to keep track of stats but I’m also doing a page a month of all the book covers for that month along with a star rating for each read. I’ve done it so that if I devour a series I only use one cover as otherwise I’d be going through thermal paper like there’s no tomorrow!

I really like having the covers as it’s a great way to visualise the year and I can definitely see trends each month in the type of book I enjoyed

Overall this year I’ve read 64 books so far and a huge amount of them are romance novels 💛 I’ve noticed that I tend to read more fantasy in the darker months so once October hits I should see an increase in that!

I feel like I’m quite generous with my ratings, if I don’t enjoy a book I won’t finish it which is why I think there’s so many at 4 stars and above – I feel like I should start keeping track of my DNFs!

March has definitely been my best month yet but was definitely helped by the fact that I read the entire princess diaries series over the course of two weeks 😂

January – Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E Smith

February – Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe

March – Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree

April – The Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert

May – Set on You by Amy Lea

June – Deceived by the Gargoyles by Lillian Lark

See what I mean about romance being my jam at the moment?! It’ll be interesting to compare the second half of the year to this and see if my tastes change.

What sort of books have you read so far this year? Are you hitting your goals?
